Just One Night, Part 1: The Stranger by Kyra Davis

just one night- the strangerYes, I am trying to catch up on my book reviews.  I read this one as a galley a few weeks back, and was very excited tonight to realize that the second book in the trilogy had just been published today, and is now waiting for me on my Kindle.  The ending of this book leaves you hanging and dying to know what is going to happen next.  I can’t wait to find out!

Kasie Fitzgerald’s best friend is convinced that she needs one last fling, a one-night stand, before she settles down and marries her long-time beau, Dave.  Kasie enters a Vegas casino, feeling a little uncomfortable wearing her friend’s Herve Leger bandage dress.  She is prepared to flirt a little but not to go through with her friend Simone’s suggestion.  She plays a little cards and makes a bet with a handsome stranger.  He wins and they end up having a drink in his room.  And Kasie gets her one night with a stranger.  She is immediately torn about it – overwhelmed by what she experienced but feeling slightly guilty about it too.  This fight with herself goes on all through the book.  The stranger ends up requesting her to work on a presentation for his company and they engage in a series of trysts in a variety of places.  Kasie can’t seem to help herself but also feels guilty about it.  Dave proposes, she is caught off-guard and says yes, and then feels even guiltier about what she has done.  I won’t say more, as the ending is very interesting.  I will end here saying go read it and see for yourself.  I am going to go find out what happens next, but I have a feeling I will be left wanting more at the end and waiting for the third book to be published.
