Until Proven Guilty by J. A. Jance

My police procedural mystery series quest continues with Jance’s J. P. Beaumont series and it’s first book “Until Proven Guilty”. I loved the slightly flawed main character of this book, loved the book as a whole, and will definitely read more of this series. The book delves into cults and brainwashing following the investigation of the murder of a little girl and the subsequent murder of others connected to her. While it definitely qualifies as a well-done police procedural, it was the side story of J. P.’s unlikely relationship with a mysterious woman that definitely made me feel for this character and want to read more about him. It is really hard to describe the story without giving away too much of the plot, I will say that it definitely a must-read.
